Process of Art
Art is a continuing process. For me there is always another way to learn how to work with a media whether it is oil, graphite, acrylic or pastel. New surfaces to work with and different mediums to make the things work differently sometimes smoother more refined sometimes with more brushstrokes or lines.

Capturing Light and Movement
As a representational painter I continue to search for great clarity and strength in my work. Still lifes set up in my studio have helped this journey greatly. One instructor has really helped me in the direction, Jeff Legg. He is an Oil Painter of America Master and has a consistent no nonsense approach to his teaching methods which I very much respect. My upcoming show with Georges Artaud of France features some of my latest work produced after my second workshop with Jeff.

Small Works
I have always loved painting still lifes. This year I was very fortunate to study with outstanding still life painters Elizabeth Robbbins and Jeff Legg. They both helped me so much. My efforts this year have placed me in four national shows and one regional. The hope for next year is more learning and improvement. http://dailybrushwork.com/grid2.aspx?OJSID=14873&OID=13&GSID=4117&pg=19

Painting P. Allen Smith Moss Mountain
When a great opportunity was given to me by the staff at P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain I could not believe my good fortune. Painting all the beauty at the wonderful place is a great experience. There a separate gardens - the vegetable garden, the rose garden and the flower gardens with paths working east to west below the house. P. Allen’s poultryville which was established to maintain rare breeds of birds is a delight. I have three more weeks at this beautiful place.
